We all love a high-energy pass. A little throttle. A little speed. Maybe even a “watch this.”
But let’s be crystal clear about one thing:
The pit area is not the target.
High-energy maneuvers — fast passes, snap rolls, high-G turns — must always be directed away from the pits and flight line. When a plane is coming toward the pilots or spectators at speed, reaction time disappears. Even experienced pilots can get disoriented at high closing speeds.
The rule isn’t about killing fun. It’s about geometry and physics.
Energy + speed + direction toward people = very small margin for error.
Keep your fast stuff out front. Keep your turns away from the line. Keep the energy pointed into open space.
You can still fly aggressively. Just fly smart.
Because nothing ruins a great flying day faster than someone diving for cover.
